[비즈한국] As of 4 PM on the 30th, the second day of the 9th Nationwide Simultaneous Local Elections, the national early voting rate reached 20.94%, surpassing the highest level recorded in previous local elections. This figure is 0.32 percentage points (p) higher than the final early voting rate of the 8th local elections (20.62%).

According to the National Election Commission, out of a total of 44,649,908 eligible voters, 9,347,567 had cast their ballots as of 4 PM on the 30th, following the start of early voting at 6 AM the previous day. The 4 PM turnout rate of 20.94% is 2.55 percentage points higher than the 18.39% recorded at the same time during the 8th local elections in 2022, which held the previous record for the highest early voting rate in local election history. It is 0.32 percentage points higher than the final early voting rate of 20.62% from that election.
Currently, the region with the highest voting rate is South Jeolla Province (35.89%), followed by North Jeolla Province (31.96%), Gwangju and Gangwon (24.82%), and Sejong (24.62%). The lowest turnout was recorded in Daegu at 16.53%, followed by Gyeonggi (18.49%), Busan (18.98%), and Incheon (19.15%). The voting rate in Seoul was recorded at 20.87%.
Early voting, which began at 6 AM on the 29th, continues until 6 PM today. A total of 3,571 polling stations have been set up nationwide. To participate in early voting, voters must bring a valid form of identification to a designated early polling station.
