[비즈한국] The apartment in Oksu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, that earned actress Kim Boo-seon the nickname 'Heating Martyr' has become subject to provisional attachment. This is the very property that drew public attention when Kim raised allegations of heating cost irregularities by some residents in 2011.
According to Bizhankook's investigation on the 21st, the Seoul Eastern District Court issued a provisional attachment order worth 200 million won on the apartment (exclusive area of 114.78㎡) in Oksu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, owned by Kim Boo-seon on the 1st of last month. The reason was identified as issues related to a monetary loan. The creditor filed the lawsuit on the grounds that they had not been repaid the money lent to Kim.
Kim attended the mediation session on the 19th, but both sides failed to reach an agreement. Consequently, the case has moved to a compulsory mediation process. Compulsory mediation is a procedure where the court proposes a settlement plan after reviewing the arguments and materials from both parties. If the parties do not raise an objection within a certain period, it carries the same effect as a final judgment.
It was noted that Kim wore the same outfit to the mediation session that she had worn when she appeared as a witness at the parliamentary audit regarding the past heating cost irregularities. During a live broadcast on her YouTube channel that day, Kim expressed her recent feelings, saying, "I have been suffering mentally for the past five months and it has cost me a lot of money. I think I'll have to take out a loan from the bank, and I'm grateful that I at least have a house to get a loan against."
In 2011, Kim raised allegations that some households in the Oksu-dong apartment where she lived were paying less for heating than their actual usage. After subsequent investigations by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seongdong-gu Office revealed the allegations to be true, she earned the title 'Heating Martyr.'
Bizhankook reached out to Kim's side to hear their position on this provisional attachment and civil dispute, but her attorney remained cautious, stating, "There is nothing to comment on."
