[비즈한국] New technology financial firm NXVP is expanding its business scope by pursuing entry as a General Partner (GP) for institution-exclusive private equity funds. NXVP is an investment firm whose largest shareholder is Wise Kids, a company owned by the Nexon founding family. Within just one year of its establishment, NXVP has now built a structure that covers all stages of investment, expanding from venture capital (VC) and accelerator (AC) services to private equity fund management.

It was confirmed that on March 16, NXVP added the following to its business objectives: △Establishment of and investment in institution-exclusive private equity funds (private equity funds) under the Capital Markets and Financial Investment Business Act (Capital Markets Act), and △Operation, management, and other GP duties for such funds. An institution-exclusive private equity fund limits its investor pool to institutional investors in consideration of expertise and risk management capabilities, and the GP is responsible for the establishment and operation of the fund.
NXVP explained, "We added these business objectives to secure flexibility in our investment and management strategies. Our goal is to expand our investment scope beyond new technology business financing and establish a foundation for private equity-related businesses that allow for fund management and investments with diverse structures."
NXVP is owned by Wise Kids, a company of the Nexon Group owner family. Wise Kids is 50% owned by each of Kim Jung-min (24) and Kim Jung-yoon (22), the children of NXC Board Chair Yoo Jung-hyun (57), and Wise Kids holds a 95% stake in NXVP. In July 2025, Wise Kids shifted its business direction from toy manufacturing and education/consulting to corporate investment (Related Article: NXVP, Revived by Kim Jung-ju's Two Daughters, Begins Full-Scale Investment Activities).
By expanding its business territory to include acting as a private equity GP, NXVP is expected to complete an ecosystem that leads from early-stage corporate discovery to growth investment and fund management. Launched in January 2025, NXVP obtained its new technology financial business license in July of that same year. New technology financial firms specialize in supporting companies with high potential but weak capital or management foundations, or managing funds through investment syndicates.
Early this year, it registered as an Accelerator (AC). An AC is an investor that provides specialized incubation, such as establishing business direction, for startups. While VCs focus primarily on capital investment in somewhat matured venture firms, ACs play roles in both discovering and nurturing companies alongside investment. With the addition of the private equity GP role, it can now cover everything up to mid-to-late stage investments and fund operations.
Since its launch, NXVP has expanded its investment portfolio around sectors including △Future Industries △Bio/Health △Digital Economy △Beauty/Lifestyle. NXVP’s cumulative assets under management (AUM) total 65.2 billion KRW. Its investments include PRND Company, operator of the used car auction platform 'Hey Dealer'; Olive International, which owns beauty brands like 'Ingredient Editor'; space launch vehicle developer Relativity Space; AI-based ASIC design solution provider ASICLAND445090; and AI-based humanoid robot firm Figure AI. As an AC, it invested in the wellness lifestyle community 'Seoul Morning Coffee Club (SMCC).' SMCC is a community where people from various industries gather in downtown Seoul early in the morning before work to have 'coffee chats.'
NXVP explained, "Since obtaining our AC license, we have aimed to build a full-cycle investment system that encompasses everything from early-stage discovery to growth and maturity stages. We are currently focusing investments on areas based on our expertise and network, such as K-Beauty, AI, humanoids, aerospace, and semiconductors. Moving forward, we plan to focus on creating portfolio synergies and accumulating a stable investment track record by strengthening a structure that links early discovery through the AC with follow-up investments via the VC."
NXVP disclosed its performance for its first year through its audit report. In 2025, it recorded an operating revenue of 210.93 million KRW and an operating loss of 489.36 million KRW. As it is in the early stages of establishment, it did not generate significant profits from its main business. However, with non-operating income reaching 724 million KRW, it ultimately posted a net profit of 177.7 million KRW.
Meanwhile, as NXVP expands its fund portfolio, Wise Kids is also actively investing in funds managed by NXVP. In December 2025, Wise Kids secured 30 billion KRW in operating funds through a capital increase allocated to shareholders, with Kim Jung-min and Kim Jung-yoon each contributing 15 billion KRW.
According to Financial Supervisory Service filings, on March 13, Wise Kids contributed 1.5 billion KRW to a beauty investment fund worth 3.3 billion KRW created by NXVP and others. Between October 2025 and March 2026, Wise Kids' total contributions to funds managed by NXVP amounted to 14 billion KRW across 7 instances.
