LS Cable & System Establishes Subsidiary 'Nuri-ieum' for Disabled Performing Arts Troupe… Aiming to Strengthen ESG Competitiveness

[비즈한국] It has been confirmed that LS Cable & System established its subsidiary 'Nuri-ieum' last October. Nuri-ieum is an organization for persons with disabilities that handles the planning, production, operation, and related services of performing arts. LS Cable & System currently operates a music-related art troupe for people with disabilities.

LS Cable & System stated that it established Nuri-ieum to advance its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management. The goal is to establish a standard workplace for the disabled to promote employment, strengthen ESG management, and build a cultural foundation that respects social diversity. The headquarters of Nuri-ieum is located at the LS Cable & System Gunpo R&D Center in Gunpo, Gyeonggi-do.

LS Cable & System has recently been focusing on its ESG management. Its subsidiary, LS Materials449030, announced that it received a 'Silver' medal in a global ESG assessment this past February, an upgrade from the 'Bronze' medal it received last year. The Silver medal is awarded to companies that rank within the top 15% of all evaluated businesses.

Industry insiders analyze that LS Cable & System's focus on ESG management is also driven by performance growth considerations. An industry official stated, "ESG management acts as a crucial factor when bidding for projects in advanced markets such as Europe." LS Cable & System itself mentioned while releasing the LS Materials ESG assessment data in February that "in the North American and European Artificial Intelligence (AI) data center (AIDC) and renewable energy markets, cases where supply chain ESG assessment results are required as a bidding condition are increasing."

According to quarterly reports, LS Cable & System's overseas revenue increased by 8.89% from 1.6231 trillion won in the first three quarters of 2024 to 1.7674 trillion won in the same period of 2025. As overseas revenue continues to grow, there is a clear need for the company to focus on ESG management accordingly.

LS Cable & System plans to fully launch Nuri-ieum's activities in the near future. An official from LS Cable & System explained, "Through continuous review of business expansion, we aim to develop additional roles suitable for employees with disabilities and secure operational expertise, thereby fulfilling our social responsibility to sustainably coexist with our disabled employees."
