[비즈한국] 'Burning Run 2026' returns on May 25. Hosted by Bizhankook, the Burning Run has gained popularity among runners as a 'hip' running event since its inaugural race in 2018. Burning Run 2026, held in the first half of this year, will take place on Monday, May 25 (an observed public holiday), starting at 8:30 AM (assembly at 8:00 AM) at the Mulbit Stage in Yeouido Han River Park, Seoul.

The course for this event consists of 5km, 7km, and 10km distances. Starting from the plaza in front of the Mulbit Stage in Han River Park, the 5km course will turn around at Dangsan Railway Bridge, the 7km course at Seongsu Sky Bridge, and the 10km course at the southern end of World Cup Bridge.
Timing chips will be provided for the 7km and 10km courses, and prize money and trophies will be awarded to the top 5 finishers in both the men's and women's divisions for these two courses.
For the 10km men's and women's categories, the prizes are 1 million KRW for 1st place, 600,000 KRW for 2nd, 300,000 KRW for 3rd, 150,000 KRW for 4th, and 100,000 KRW for 5th. For the 7km categories, the prizes are 700,000 KRW for 1st place, 400,000 KRW for 2nd, 200,000 KRW for 3rd, 100,000 KRW for 4th, and 50,000 KRW for 5th. Trophies will be awarded to all top finishers.

All participants will receive a running vest (Walk-up), running socks (Lexy), a finisher medal, a race bib, a timing chip (for 10km and 7km participants), a mobile race record certificate, snacks, bottled water, and beverages. Souvenirs may be subject to change depending on the organizer's circumstances. A bag storage area and changing rooms will be available on the day of the event.
Applications are open on the official Burning Run website (http://www.burningrun.co.kr) until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 29, with a limit of 5,000 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration fees are 35,000 KRW for 5km, 40,000 KRW for 7km, and 45,000 KRW for 10km.
‘Burning Run 2026’ is open to anyone of all ages and genders, and participants are welcome to wear costumes or any outfit of their choice. Strollers and pets are also allowed to participate, though they must start from the very back for safety reasons. Only those who complete payment by 1:00 PM on April 29 will have their race bibs mailed to them; on-site registration is not available.


Burning Run 2026 will also feature unique programs. After the race, an 'After Party' will be held with various prize giveaways to add to the fun. An 'SNS Event Ranking Competition' will also take place. Participants who post commemorative photos at the Burning Run photo zone using the hashtags #BurningRun and #BurningRun2026 will have their entries evaluated to determine winners on the main stage. Various companies will also set up booths to distribute generous prizes.
