[비즈한국] The 24th 2025 Eurasia Busan International Art Fair (EBIAF), where artists and collectors meet directly, kicks off on Thursday, December 4, at BEXCO Exhibition Center II (Halls 4C-F), marking the largest scale of its kind in the country. Approximately 250 domestic and international artists will be on-site to showcase their works during the four-day event, which runs through Sunday, December 7. Here are three highlights to watch at this year's fair.
Eurasia Special Exhibition
The first highlight is the Eurasia Special Exhibition. Serving as the core of this year's art fair, the "Eurasia Special Exhibition" acts as a venue for international art exchange featuring representative artists from across Eurasia. A diverse range of styles will be on display, from 20th-century Soviet masterpieces to contemporary Indian art and the nomadic cultural arts of Mongolia.
Historical works by artists from former Soviet states such as Armenia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan offer a glimpse into a unique artistic world formed during the Cold War. They serve as testimonials capturing deep reflections on humanity and life even amidst political upheaval. Meanwhile, works by 25 contemporary Indian artists present a feast of vibrant colors that harmonize traditional Indian culture with modern sensibilities.

Emerging Artist Exhibition
The second point of interest is the "K-Art Emerging Artist Exhibition," which sheds light on the next generation of Korean art. At this exhibition, visitors can appreciate the fresh perspectives and experimental expressions of rising artists through works of various genres.
Notably, a merchandise shop will be operated where visitors can purchase various art goods, such as postcards, keyrings, and eco-bags, created by the emerging artists themselves. This allows visitors to own art in a practical way while supporting young artists through their purchases.
Celebrity Artist Special Exhibition
Finally, there is the Celebrity Artist Special Exhibition, where pop culture and fine art collide. Familiar stars will meet the public in a new light. This special exhibition, featuring six celebrity artists including actor Choi Min-soo, Bad Boss, singer Gilme, and idol Roda, is expected to be one of the highlights of the fair.
These artists have poured their deep philosophies and emotions into their work, transcending their public image as entertainers. Visitors will be able to experience the point where fine art and pop culture inspire one another.
Art and Sharing with Local Artists and UNICEF
The 2025 Eurasia Busan International Art Fair also highlights the local art ecosystem through an exhibition by the "Sang" artist group, which is active primarily in the Busan and Gyeongnam regions. Visitors can encounter high-quality works by renowned artists active in the area.
Furthermore, a portion of the art fair's proceeds will be donated to UNICEF to support global child relief efforts, reflecting the fair's commitment to social responsibility through art. During the fair, a scholarship program for art students and emerging artists will also be operated to provide practical support for the sustainability of the art ecosystem and the next generation.

The 2025 Eurasia Busan International Art Fair aims to be an open art market where artists and visitors can meet in person to share thoughts and sensibilities, going beyond mere observation. Admission to the "2025 Eurasia Busan International Art Fair" is 15,000 won for adults, and parking is available at the BEXCO Exhibition Center II underground parking lot. The docent program, where visitors can listen to guided explanations, will run from Friday, December 5, to Sunday, December 7, with applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis at the information desk. Notably, during the emerging artist docent sessions, visitors can vote for their favorite artists, and the results will be reflected in the evaluation of the Emerging Artist Awards.
Heo Sook, Chairperson of the K-Art International Exchange Association, stated, "This Eurasia Busan International Art Fair will be a special venue where one can go beyond simply viewing art to experience the diverse cultures of the Eurasian continent and encounter a wide spectrum of art, from emerging artists to celebrity and local artists." She added, "As about 250 artists are personally participating, it is also a golden opportunity to communicate with them and acquire works at reasonable prices."
