[비즈한국] A solo exhibition by artist Lee Young-soo, who captures the delicate moments of nature with water droplets as a primary motif, is being held. From Wednesday, September 10, to Sunday, September 21, approximately 40 works featuring nature as a subject, including the signature 'Water Drop' series, will be showcased at Sejong University (President Eom Jong-hwa) Sejong Museum Gallery Hall 2.
Artist Lee Young-soo graduated from Sookmyung Women's University with a degree in Western Painting and completed her graduate studies at the same institution. To date, she has held 37 solo exhibitions, participated in over 300 group exhibitions, and taken part in numerous domestic and international art fairs.
Her 'Water Drop' series, which has continued for over 20 years, captures the refreshing quality of the moment and the lyricism of nature on canvas through the artist's unique, delicate perspective. The small world reflected in the water droplets goes beyond realistic representation, becoming a "window of meditation" that offers viewers a time for purification and reflection. Through transparent colors and precise expression, the artist reveals the beauty of the fleeting moment and a resonant echo. She interprets the breath and cycle of life in nature through a pictorial language.
This exhibition will feature not only water droplets but also works that reflect on the cycle of life and time through everyday natural subjects such as fallen leaves and flower petals.
Artist Lee Young-soo stated, "Through the small water droplets hanging on a leaf, I realize the principles of nature," adding, "I hope this becomes a time to deeply feel the lyricism of nature and life through the medium of these brilliantly formed droplets."
