[Exclusive] Investment Firm Moves Out of Covana Contents Office Upon Return of Yoon Suk Yeol and His Wife

[비즈한국] It has been confirmed that an investment firm, "A," which had moved into an Acro Vista office owned by Covana Contents, vacated the premises last April and relocated its registered address to a mixed-use building in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. According to filings made by LS Eco Energy229640, the CEO of investment firm A served as the representative of "Covana Partners Hong Kong" from 2011 to 2016.

On February 26 of last year, investment firm A moved its corporate address from Yeouido to a basement office in Acro Vista owned by Covana Contents. Following this, former President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife moved out of the Hannam-dong presidential residence and into Acro Vista on April 11 of this year; about ten days later, investment firm A relocated its address from the Acro Vista office. This occurred just 1 year and 2 months after they had moved their address to Acro Vista.

After vacating Acro Vista, investment firm A moved its corporate address to a mixed-use building in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, on April 23. This was not merely an address change, as signs of the company actually operating at the building were confirmed. A signboard for investment firm A is currently displayed at the registered address in the Gangseo-gu building.

The CEO of investment firm A served as an auditor and outside director for LS Eco Energy (formerly LS Cable & System Asia) from December 4, 2015, to March 24, 2021. At that time, LS Eco Energy disclosed that the CEO of investment firm A had served as the representative of Covana Partners Hong Kong from 2011 to 2016. Following Yoon Suk Yeol’s presidential election victory in 2022, it was reported that Covana Contents, operated by First Lady Kim Keon Hee, would close down or suspend business. In reality, however, Kim Keon Hee resigned as CEO, and her brother was registered as the sole executive director.

On February 13, 2024, about 10 days before investment firm A moved into Acro Vista, Covana Contents added "real estate leasing and subleasing" to its business purposes. Even after investment firm A moved in, Covana Contents maintained its address at Acro Vista. The registered executive of Covana Contents remains Kim Keon Hee's brother.

The signboard for investment firm A that had been hanging at the Covana Contents office in Acro Vista has now been removed. On the afternoon of July 9, the lights inside the office were off, but two security guards were stationed in the entrance hallway.

Meanwhile, former President Yoon Suk Yeol has been re-incarcerated at the Seoul Detention Center after four months. At approximately 2:00 a.m. on July 10, the Seoul Central District Court issued an arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk Yeol, requested by the insurrection special investigation team on charges including abuse of power and obstruction of the exercise of rights, and violation of the Presidential Security Act.
