[비즈한국] According to the Financial Supervisory Service's Data Analysis, Retrieval and Transfer System (DART) on the 6th, Yuhan Corporation000100 ranked first in both average annual salary and average years of service among the top 10 listed pharmaceutical companies based on cumulative revenue for the third quarter of last year. The top 10 pharmaceutical companies, listed in order of cumulative Q3 revenue, are Yuhan Corporation, Kwang Dong Pharmaceutical009290, GC Biopharma006280, Chong Kun Dang185750, Hanmi Pharmaceutical128940, Daewoong Pharmaceutical, Boryung, HK inno.N, Dongkook Pharmaceutical, and JW Pharmaceutical. Among them, Boryung and JW Pharmaceutical were excluded from the analysis as their quarterly reports did not contain data on the "status of employees."

Revenue Leader Yuhan Corporation also Ranks 'First' in Average Salary
Yuhan Corporation, the leader in domestic pharmaceutical revenue, saw its employees earn an average annual salary of 86 million won as of the third quarter of last year, making it the only company among the top 10 to exceed the 80 million won range. This is a significant increase compared to the same period the previous year. In the third quarter of 2023, Yuhan's average employee salary was 76 million won for men and 53 million won for women, with a combined average of 70 million won. Yuhan also had the highest average salary for female employees (64 million won).
Following Yuhan in average salary was Chong Kun Dang (61 million won). This was followed by Hanmi Pharmaceutical (56 million won), Kwang Dong Pharmaceutical (56 million won), HK inno.N (52 million won), and Daewoong Pharmaceutical (51 million won). Companies where the average salary did not exceed 50 million won included Dongkook Pharmaceutical (49 million won) and GC Biopharma (47 million won).
GC Biopharma had the lowest average salary at 47 million won, a decrease of 2 million won compared to the same period the previous year (49 million won). While their female average salary was not in the bottom tier, their male average salary was the lowest at 49 million won. GC Biopharma was the only company among the top 10 where the average male salary did not exceed 50 million won.
Dongkook Pharmaceutical has the lowest female average wage… GC Biopharma shows the smallest gender pay gap
The pharmaceutical industry tends to have significant gender pay gaps. Among the top 10, only two companies had an average female salary exceeding 50 million won as of the third quarter of last year: Yuhan Corporation and Chong Kun Dang, the top two companies in overall average salary, with female average wages of 64 million won and 51 million won, respectively.
The company with the lowest female average salary was Dongkook Pharmaceutical (37 million won). The gender pay gap there was 18 million won. After Yuhan Corporation, which had the largest gender pay gap (30 million won), Dongkook Pharmaceutical had the second-largest disparity between male and female wages.
The company with the smallest gender pay gap was GC Biopharma. The difference between male and female wages at GC Biopharma was 6 million won, making it one of only two companies among the top 10, along with HK inno.N, to have a wage gap of less than 10 million won. HK inno.N had a gender pay gap of 9 million won. However, neither company ranked high in terms of overall average female wages.
Daewoong Pharmaceutical has the shortest average tenure at '5 years and 8 months'
Yuhan Corporation had the longest average tenure of service at 12 years and 10 months. On average, men worked for 13 years and 11 months, while women worked for 9 years and 6 months. Kwang Dong Pharmaceutical ranked second (10 years and 6 months); it and Yuhan were the only companies among the top 10 to exceed 10 years of service. They were followed by GC Biopharma (9 years and 4 months), Chong Kun Dang (9 years and 4 months), HK inno.N (8 years and 4 months), Hanmi Pharmaceutical (8 years and 4 months), and Dongkook Pharmaceutical (6 years and 2 months).
The company with the shortest average tenure was Daewoong Pharmaceutical. The average tenure for Daewoong employees was 5 years and 8 months, with women averaging only 5 years and 2 months. Daewoong Pharmaceutical also had the lowest average tenure during the same period the previous year, at 6 years and 2 months.
