[비즈한국] The running fever is hot. It’s a sport you can start without special equipment, and running clubs have become more numerous. Consequently, running events are also on the rise. Among them, the Burning Run, hosted by BizHankook, has gained a reputation as a 'hip' running event since its first edition in 2018, establishing itself as a special, enjoyable running experience that sells out early every year. Burning Run 2025 will be held on Tuesday, May 6, an alternative holiday, at 8:30 AM (race starts at 9:00 AM) at the square in front of the Mulbit Stage at Yeouido Hangang Park, Seoul.
The race courses consist of 5km, 7km, and 10km. Starting from the square in front of the Mulbit Stage, the 5km course turns at the Dangsan Railway Bridge, the 7km course at the Seongsu Haneul Bridge, and the 10km course at the southern end of the World Cup Bridge. Timing chips are provided for the 7km and 10km courses, and cash prizes and awards are given to the top 3 male and female finishers in each of those two categories.
For the 10km male and female categories, cash prizes of 1 million won for 1st place, 800,000 won for 2nd place, and 600,000 won for 3rd place will be awarded. For the 7km male and female categories, prizes of 500,000 won for 1st place, 300,000 won for 2nd place, and 100,000 won for 3rd place will be awarded. Each top finisher will also receive Monomano sports glasses as an additional prize.
All participants will receive a 'Race Pack' containing a functional t-shirt, a timing chip (for 10km and 7km participants), a bib, a finisher medal, a mobile record certificate, snacks, and drinks. Souvenirs are subject to change depending on the organizer's circumstances. For the convenience of participants on the day, luggage storage and changing rooms will be provided.
The Burning Run is gaining word-of-mouth fame for its unique 'After Party' held after the race. An official event is the 'SNS Ranking Battle.' If you leave a commemorative photo at the Burning Run photo zone with the two hashtags '#BurningRun' and '#BurningRun2025', the ranking battle will be held on the main stage, hosted by MC Oh In-taek. Prizes include an Apple Watch (1 person), Monomano Switch Glasses (2 people), Monomano Sports Glasses (3 people), and Rawrow Tote Bags (4 people). In addition, many other prizes are offered through impromptu events, and the more actively you participate, the higher your chances of winning.
Registration opens on February 3 at 10:00 AM via the official Burning Run website. Participation is limited to the first 3,000 applicants, and information regarding participation fees by course, as well as how to register as a group or company, can be found on the official Burning Run website. Participation is open to everyone regardless of age or gender, and unique costumes are welcome. Strollers and pets are also allowed, but for safety, participants with them must start from the very back. On-site registration is not available on the day of the event due to the preparation of bibs and souvenirs.
