[비즈한국] 'JUMP SHOP,' the official licensed store where you can meet popular characters from Japan's representative manga magazine 'Weekly Shonen Jump' all in one place, is opening its first limited-time store in Korea.

The 'Limited Time JUMP SHOP IN SEOUL,' which will be open for two weeks from Thursday, February 13 to Wednesday, February 26 at The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido, will feature original Japanese character merchandise from series such as 'One Piece,' 'Sakamoto Days,' 'Blue Box,' 'HUNTER×HUNTER,' 'The Prince of Tennis II,' 'Kaiju No. 8,' 'Dragon Ball,' 'NARUTO,' 'Bleach,' 'Gintama,' 'Haikyu!!,' 'My Hero Academia,' and 'Jujutsu Kaisen.' This event is being held in collaboration with Japan's Shueisha and Benelic, and Korea's Seoul Media Comics.
'Weekly Shonen Jump,' published weekly by Shueisha, was founded in 1968 and has produced numerous hit works that are widely known in Korea, including 'Dragon Ball.' In 1995, it recorded the highest circulation for a manga magazine in history at 6.53 million copies, earning a place in the Guinness World Records. In the 2000s, it enjoyed another golden age through globally popular titles like 'One Piece,' 'Naruto,' and 'Bleach.' Even recently, series such as 'Jujutsu Kaisen' and 'My Hero Academia' have continued to gain immense popularity. In 2014, the online magazine 'Shonen Jump+' was launched, further expanding the 'Jump' brand with the serialization of works like 'Kaiju No. 8.'
Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024, 'JUMP SHOP' is an official licensed store authorized by Shueisha. Its most notable feature is that it handles 'original merchandise' created based on scenes and illustrations drawn directly by the original manga artists.
Currently, in Japan, there are 13 permanent stores and 3 limited-time stores in operation, and short-term limited-time stores are also being operated in other regions.
