[Exclusive] hy Group Chairman Yoon Ho-joong Purchases Eterno Cheongdam for a Domestic Record 30.5 Billion Won

[비즈한국] It has been confirmed through Bizhankook's investigation that Yoon Ho-joong, Chairman of hy (formerly Korea Yakult) Group, purchased a unit at the luxury apartment complex Eterno Cheongdam in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on January 3. The purchase price was 30.5 billion won, marking the highest price ever paid for a multi-unit residential property in Korea.

Yoon Ho-joong, Chairman of hy Group and the eldest son of the late Korea Yakult founder Yoon Deok-byeong, bought the apartment for the highest transaction price in the country. According to the real estate registry, Chairman Yoon signed a sales contract for a low-rise duplex unit (exclusive area of 255.09㎡, supply area of 398.39㎡) at Eterno Cheongdam last October. Three months later, on January 3, he paid the full 30.5 billion won and received the title from the trust company.

On the day the transfer of ownership was filed with the court, a collateral mortgage with a maximum debt amount of 12.859 billion won was established. Given that the maximum debt amount is typically set at 110–120% of the loan, it is estimated that 18.8 billion won was paid in cash, while 11.7 billion won was financed through a loan.

It is not yet known whether Chairman Yoon has moved into Eterno Cheongdam. At the time the ownership was transferred, his registered address remained in Seongbuk-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. This suggests that he has either not yet moved in or has not filed a change of address after moving.

An official from hy Group stated, "The company has no official position regarding the private lives of the owner family." In 2023, hy Group recorded consolidated revenue of 1.519 trillion won and an operating loss of approximately 27.3 billion won.

Eterno Cheongdam is well-known as the residence of notable figures including singer IU, Krafton CEO Kim Chang-han, Pledis Entertainment CEO Han Sung-soo, Samyang International Chairman Hur Kwang-soo, and SD Biosensor Chairman Cho Young-shik.
