[비즈한국] It has been confirmed that Daishin Securities Chair Lee Ear-ryong and Vice Chair Yang Hong-seok each hold a 50% stake in Golden Trust Partners, a company established in 2017. This is the only company, other than Daishin Securities, in which the mother-son duo holds a stake, and its lack of any significant business activity for over seven years is raising questions.

According to the Financial Supervisory Service's Data Analysis, Retrieval and Transfer System (DART), Golden Trust Partners engages in management consulting and includes investment, real estate, advertising, and exhibition services as part of its business objectives.
Golden Trust Partners was founded with a 50% capital contribution each from Chair Lee Ear-ryong and Vice Chair Yang Hong-seok. While the initial capital at the time of establishment was 300 million KRW, it increased to 350 million KRW through a paid-in capital increase allocated to shareholders in July 2021.
At the time of establishment, Park Yoon-kyung, the wife of Vice Chair Yang Hong-seok, took office as CEO and internal director, a position she continues to hold. It appears there are no other executives besides Park. As the company is maintained by Vice Chair Yang, his wife, and Chair Lee, the industry is paying close attention to its background and intended purpose.
However, nothing has been revealed about the nature of Golden Trust's business for over seven years. Golden Trust Partners only began filing disclosures with the Financial Supervisory Service's DART system in 2023, and it is effectively in a state of suspended operation, with 0 KRW in revenue and a net loss of 3 million KRW.
The total equity of Golden Trust Partners is confirmed to be around 670 million KRW. Golden Trust Partners holds a 5.26% stake in 'Tandem,' a Daishin Securities affiliate established in 2018; it is presumed that the book value of 605 million KRW for this stake is included in its assets. Tandem is a company engaged in investment for businesses related to bio and healthcare. While it is the only company in which Golden Trust Partners holds a stake, Tandem also recorded 0 KRW in revenue last year, further fueling curiosity regarding the background of these investments.
When asked about the background of the establishment of Golden Trust, a Daishin Securities official replied, "We have nothing to say, as we know absolutely nothing about that company."
