The 7-year-old child who bought Yoo Ah-in's 6.3 billion won Itaewon house: What is the connection to 'Mardi Mercredi'?

[비즈한국] Actor Yoo Ah-in, currently on trial for habitual drug use, sold his detached house in Itaewon-dong, which he had previously showcased on the MBC entertainment program 'I Live Alone', for 6.3 billion won last month. The transfer of ownership was filed with the court on the 19th of last month, just one month later, and the buyer is a 7-year-old child born in July 2017. Furthermore, it appears that this young buyer paid the full 6.3 billion won purchase price in cash without any loans.

According to the real estate register, the real estate sales contract was signed on November 20, and the transfer of ownership was filed with the court on December 19, one month after the contract was signed.

Surprisingly, the buyer who took ownership of the house is a 7-year-old child born in July 2017. Given that the buyer did not take out a mortgage loan after the transfer, it appears the full 6.3 billion won purchase price was paid in cash. The young buyer's surname is 'Park', and it is highly likely that the child is the offspring of Park Hwa-mok, CEO of Piece Peace Studio, and designer Lee Soo-hyun. This is because the address registered with the court at the time of the ownership transfer filing was the residence of CEO Park and his spouse.

Piece Peace Studio is the operator of the clothing brand 'Mardi Mercredi', which has recently gained popularity among young women, often referred to as the "Dongsamsuo (Community Service Center) T-shirt" brand. Last year, the company recorded 68.6 billion won in revenue and 25.1 billion won in operating profit, and is currently pursuing a KOSPI listing with a goal of 2026.

Fashion industry insiders predict that if CEO Park Hwa-mok and his spouse purchased the Itaewon-dong house under their child's name, there is a high possibility they will change its use for future purposes, such as an office building or store. In particular, real estate experts point out that since a 7-year-old who is not yet economically independent was put forward as the owner, the actual investment cost, including gift taxes, could approach 10 billion won.
