[비즈한국] It has been confirmed that an individual in their 20s purchased a unit at Eterno Cheongdam, which set a record for the highest sale price in Korea in 2021 when its penthouse was listed at 30 billion won. Eterno Cheongdam previously drew significant attention when singer and actress IU (Lee Ji-eun) purchased a unit there. This buyer in their 20s is presumed to be the eldest son of a domestic conglomerate owner, drawing attention from the business world as well as the real estate industry.
Following similar trends at Hannam The Hill and Nine One Hannam, it has been revealed that a 20-something also purchased a unit at Eterno Cheongdam. According to the real estate registry, an individual surnamed Lee, born in August 1994, signed a contract for a 9th-floor unit at Eterno Cheongdam in October 2021 at the age of 27, and took ownership after paying the full remaining balance on August 1. The sale price is between 12 billion and 13 billion won, and as it is located in an area subject to price ceilings, it is understood that the full amount was paid in cash.
The 9th-floor unit purchased by Lee is a single-story 105-pyeong (approx. 347 square meters) residence consisting of four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Currently, the market price for a single-story unit in this complex reaches around 22 billion won. This means the property value has risen by approximately 10 billion won in the three years since the purchase.
Interestingly, in the real estate industry, there is talk that Lee is the son of Chairman B, the owner of A Group. Lee and Chairman B's son share the same name and are the same age. The speculation is further fueled by the fact that it is rare for someone in their 20s to be able to pay cash for an apartment in the 12 to 13 billion won range. However, because Chairman B's son does not hold a position at the company, it has not been clearly confirmed whether the two are the same person. Chairman B's son, born in 1994, is a major shareholder holding stakes in key subsidiaries of A Group.
In addition to Lee, other buyers of Eterno Cheongdam, which began move-ins this year, include singer and actress IU (Lee Ji-eun), Krafton CEO Kim Chang-han 259960, NPIXEL CEO Bae Bong-gun, Pledis Entertainment CEO Han Sung-soo, Samyang International Chairman Huh Kwang-soo, former BHC CEO Park Hyun-jong, MegaStudy star instructor Kang Min-chul, Hashed CEO Kim Seo-jun, and Cho Young-shik, CEO of COVID-19 self-test kit manufacturer SD Biosensor.
