[비즈한국] With 400 hours of video uploaded every minute to YouTube, not every video can be a ‘blast.’ In ‘All That Tube,’ we select videos worth watching in the vast world of YouTube and introduce them with helpful context.
Lee Ji-seung’s ‘Singing indiGo While Sleeping lol’
Lee Ji-seung is popular as a YouTuber who is handsome and good at rap covers. In this video, where a friend lured him with the promise of buying him braised spicy chicken (Jjimdak) if he bought a Bluetooth microphone, he starts singing ‘indiGo’ while half-asleep—not quite out of the blue, but certainly unexpected. Even though he only sang the Justhis and Kid Milli parts, the video became so popular that it racked up 1.24 million views, surpassing the full version. Seung-ah, if your sister buys you Jjimdak and dessert, will you sing the Young B and Noel parts in your sleep, too?
Noraehaneun Haram’s ‘Haram Worried About Her Height ㅠㅠ Height Song’
A video where you can get a direct dose of the cuteness of Im Ha-ram, also known as ‘Noraehaneun Haram (Singing Haram),’ born in 2006. She sings the ‘Height Song,’ originally by the duo YouTuber and indie musician group ‘Self Acoustic,’ and even the making-of clip that follows is just ‘overflowing with cuteness.’ Especially when she says, “Huh? Huh?? Huh???” it’s a total heart-stopper. Her mother’s voice, ‘Haram-mom,’ is featured, and just like her mom said, I really want to tell her, “But Haram, you’re still cute.”
Gaengbokchi’s ‘Lose Weight, Pig’
Even if you don’t know ‘Gaengbokchi,’ you’ve probably heard ‘Talmor Party,’ a parody of ‘Amor Fati’ rewritten for people with hair loss. Gaengbokchi is particularly popular for songs about hair loss and dieting, and among them, I recommend ‘Lose Weight, Pig,’ a parody of N.EX.T’s ‘Lazenca, Save Us,’ which truly tugs at the heartstrings. The majestic song is transformed with lyrics like “Crushed by the belly fat I brought upon myself~ My potbelly hides my toes” and “My lips are stained with grease, still chewing on cooked meat,” triggering bursts of laughter. The humorous lyrics contrasting with the still-majestic atmosphere are the highlight.
Yoo Jun-ho’s ‘Mr. Sunshine 20-Character Voice Impressions’
Yoo Jun-ho, who uses the slogan ‘I will add voice to your videos,’ is a versatile creator who has released albums as a member of the group ‘Garlic Swag’ and has also worked as a narrator for ‘Start! Video Travel.’ While his song covers are popular, his talent for voice impressions and dubbing shines even brighter. This video, which combines the dialogue of 20 characters from the hit drama ‘Mr. Sunshine’—including Eugene Choi, Goo Dong-mae, Kim Hee-sung, Jang Seung-goo, Mori Takashi, Tsuda, Lee Wan-ik, and Emperor Gojong—with witty mash-ups of the actors’ famous lines from other works, is a condensed showcase of his abilities.
It’s no secret that you can see all of them live at ‘Play Next 2019’ (Related article: Tickets open on the 29th at 18:00 on Interpark035080).
